"The Road to 100 Portraits"
I had the idea, a while back, to take 100 portraits of 100 people, no set up, just pictures of people going about their everyday lives.
I started that project today with 3 pictures. They can be found in the set "The Road to 100"
These pictures are done with no lighting set up, butt maybe a bit of fill flash if I happen to have one with me. Its going to be an exercise I hope to complete by the end of the year, a journey of meeting new people. Its an exploration of what makes my photographic vision 'tick'.
I hope you enjoy! Keep checking back for more updates as the photos get added over the coming months!
Unfortunately I am unable to put a description of each photo underneath it, so I will continue to update blog entries with descriptions of each photo. A little inconvenient I'm afraid, but you will get a bit of background info on each photo and where / why I took it.
Photos are listed with their number beside them (viewable at the top of the page when viewing each photo.
Photos:
( 1 ) Sitting with two photographer friends in Cowboy Coffee downtown Kamloops, looking to my left I was surprised by the quality of the color the green jacket provided. I took the shot as both photographers were reading the daily paper. The expression and color made this photo work for me.
( 2 ) In Cowboy Coffee downtown Kamloops this gentleman was working away on his laptop during a lunch hour break from work. His unique look and brightly patterned shirt inspired me to take this portrait. Very nice man. Hopefully we will see him there again!
( 3 ) Walking by a public library in downtown Kamloops, I saw this man in his straw hat waiting to cross the street.
